Cranberry Sauce

This classic, easy cranberry sauce is absolutely wonderful. It can be done in under 15 minutes and it’s the perfect combination between sweet and tart.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice (from 2 oranges)
  • 4 small peels from one orange
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries and pick through them, discarding the bad ones.
  2. To a large saucepan, add sugar, orange juice, water, and salt. Bring the mixture to a slight boil over medium heat. Stir to combine occasionally.
  3. Add cranberries, orange peels and bring to a boil; stir frequently. Cook until most of the cranberries have popped, about 10 minutes. 
  4. Let it cool completely. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes:

1.The cranberry sauce can be made up to 4 days in advance.
