Cannoli Recipe Prep time: 15 Min Total time: 15 Min
Cannoli is a classic Italian pasty recipe that's very easy to make. The sweet ricotta filling can be made in just 15 minutes. In this recipe, I had a little help from the store by using store-bought cannoli shells .
Instructions To drain the ricotta cheese, place a piece of cheesecloth over a strainer and place the strainer on top of a bowl. Add the ricotta and cover it with extra cheesecloth. Place a small plate, one that fits inside the strainer, and weigh it down with a can. Let the ricotta strain in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, best overnight. To a large bowl, add the whipping cream and whisk with a hand mixer or a whisk until thick and stiff peaks have formed. Add the strained ricotta, orange zest, vanilla extract, cinnamon, salt, and powdered sugar. Fold and stir the ingredients into the whipped cream. Transfer the filling into a piping bag fitted with a large tip. Pipe filling into cannoli shells and dip each end into mini chocolate chips. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the cannolis and serve right away. Enjoy! VIDEO
